WRMS Students Honor Veterans
On Friday, November 8th, the 7th grade had the honor of spending their Social Studies class period with two local veterans from the Wood River Valley. These amazing men spent their day with the children sharing their stories and answering the many questions posed by the students. This visit was made possible by the wonderful staff from Higher Ground, correlation with Ms. Beth Andrews and Mrs. Ellen Nasvik.
Veterans included John French, a pilot in the Marines and Justin Rujawitz, a Medic in the Army National Guard. The veterans discussed the meaning of Veteran’s Day. They told the students what it was like serving in the conflicts they served and how the military has shaped their lives.
The entire student body filled the Gymnasium for a tribute assembly to Veterans from the valley. The choir led everyone in patriotic songs and Leadership students described the history of Veteran’s Day, read poems, and explained the meaning and importance of remembering those who have served our country.
