WRMS Students Participate in Regional Book Award
Sixty-nine WRMS students participated in the Young Reader’s Choice Award this year. This award sponsored by the Pacific Northwest Library Association is a regional book award given to three books each year. Students earn the right to vote by reading at least four of the twenty-four nominated books. The qualifying students attended the voting party on April 11th and cast their votes using authentic voting booths and ballot box provided by the county clerk. Pax by Sara Pennypacker received the most votes. Mrs. Boesch submits the students’ votes to the PNLA award committee who gathers votes from young readers in four states and two Canadian provinces before announcing the winners. During the voting party, the students enjoyed goodie bags, pizza, ice cream sundaes, and raffle prizes. Thanks to all the students who participated!
