I graduated from the College of Idaho and began traveling throughout Central America and SE Asia.  My first career was in the non-profit environmental movement as a community organizer and lobbyist on behalf of Wild places.  I find strength and inspiration in being outdoors: backpacking with my family, flyfishing, hunting, rafting and hiking.  I love the game of basketball and enjoy playing acoustic guitar, especially as an accompanist to the singing of my wife and two sons.  I am excited by the chance to build solid relationships with my students centered around the growth mindset and practicing critical thinking skills both inside and outside the classroom.
