Students Qualify for National BPA Event
Last month, 13 students from WRHS participated in the State Leadership Conference for Business Professionals of America (BPA) by qualifying in their respective events. Two of those students are qualified to compete at the national level in Anaheim at the (NLC) National Leadership Conference on April 26-30.
Avery Nordenfelt, sophomore, earned a spot at the NLC by placing 3rd in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications. At nationals, Avery will take a 90-minute exam as well as a Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam in Excel 2019.
Maeve Coffelt, junior, earned her spot by placing 4th in Advanced Interview Skills and will be pre-submitting a resume and cover letter to the national center and then will be judged by industry experts in a live interview situation at nationals.
BPA is an organization that supports business and information technology, as well as the medical field by offering competitive events based on national standards. There are over 45,000 members in over 1,800 chapters across 25 states and Puerto Rico, as well as an international presence in China, Haiti, and Peru. Idaho currently has over 1,500 members.
