Parent Auxiliary

  • 2018-2019 HEMINGWAY PARENTS AUXILIARY

                                                        

    The Hemingway Parents Auxiliary provides support for the Hemingway Staff and Students and encourages community within the Hemingway STEAM School. On average the PA spends approximately $65 per year on every student! Here are some ways that our PA contributes to the well-being of students and teachers:

    Organizing Hemingway Parent Meetings throughout the school year which gives parents the opportunity to learn about what is going on at the school and also hear from interesting speakers from our community

    Providing grant funds to faculty members for approved activities and equipment

    Supplementing teacher’s out-of-pocket expenses through the purchase of additional staff school supplies (such as $50 gift certificates to Janes at the beginning of the year)

    Supporting Wagons Ho! (a favorite 4th grade event)

    Creating the Hemingway directories that are distributed to all students

    Providing coffee for the year for staff members in the faculty lounge

    Purchasing additional books for reading specialists

    Organizing weekly treats for the staff members in the faculty lounge

    Funding special school performances such as St Thomas Playhouse

    Meeting the needs for STEAM and technology requests

    Making possible additional faculty enrichment and continuing education for staff

    Organizing end of the year staff appreciation week including the popular staff appreciation dinner 

    Sponsoring special Hemingway events throughout the year such as the Back to School Bash, Grandparents & Special Friends Day, Skate Night, Rainbow Day and Art & Lit Fair

    There is no fee for the Hemingway Parents Auxiliary but there are two fundraisers per year to raise money and we encourage your participation in these fundraisers. One time donations from the parents to support the PA are always appreciated. Checks may be made payable to Hemingway Parents Auxiliary and dropped off in the office.

    WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20: RAINBOW DAY

    All students are encouraged to wear the colors of the rainbow! They will get to learn about healthy eating and enjoy some yummy smoothies!

    FRIDAY, APRIL 19: HEMINGWAY SPRING FLING

    Please join us from 7-10 p.m. at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum for our Casino Royale Spring Fling social event and fundraiser! Wear your best James Bond attire, play some casino games, dance the 

    night away and socialize with other Hemingway parents and staff. We are going to raise funds to improve our library! To buy tickets for the event, please go to: hemingway.afrogs.org
