Mrs. Varela
I graduated from California State University-Dominguez Hills in 2000 with a B.A. in education and a minor in Spanish. My husband and I moved to Hailey in 2004 so that we could raise our children in this beautiful area. I am very fortunate to be a first-grade teacher because I really enjoy working with young children. I have been working at Hemingway for the past 16 years in the dual immersion program, which I really enjoy because I get to teach my first-grade students their academic skills in Spanish, which is my native language. Because I enjoy working with young children, I decided to pursue a master's program in Early Childhood Education. This program taught me how to engage students in fun, effective ways to ensure that they learn to their full potential.
