• Welcome to Special Education!

The Blaine County School District Special Education programs exist to provide services to county students who meet the eligibility requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) under one of the thirteen disability categories allowed in the State of Idaho.  All district schools are served by special education professionals and related service providers. The District seeks to meet its obligations under the law to provide Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to all eligible students and to do this within the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).

Mike Stemp and Anik Avard are the Special Education teachers/ case managers at Ernest Hemingway STEAM School and those that provide academic and social/ emotional/ behavioral services for the students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in our school. Other service providers and members of our team are; Molly Mendelsohn (Speech-Language Pathologist), and Catherine Parris (Occupational Therapist).
