My name is Amanda Silvis and I am the Hemingway STEAM School Middle School Counselor.  I am so excited to continue to be a part of this wonderful Husky family and to be able to assist students, their families and staff with mental health and social/emotional issues that may arise and disrupt school life.  This is my 9th year as a School Counselor, 4 were spent as an elementary counselor in the Vallivue School District, with this being my fourth year at EHSS.  Before going back to school to become a counselor, I was a teacher.  I taught for a total of 12 years in grades 1-4. 

I am an Idaho native and grew up in Nampa.  Some of my favorite memories growing up were going on annual jet boating trips with my family in Hell's Canyon to fish for Sturgeon.  Love jet boating the rapids, completely scared of rafting them!  I moved to the Wood River Valley in 2019 when I married my husband and we joined our two families.  I now have two kids of my own, two step-kids, a pup named Ruby and a kitty named Bridger.  I adore them all!

In the following pages you will find various resources and websites I have left for you.  Navigating the world of middle school growth, challenges, struggles, triumphs and celebrations can be extremely chaotic.  It takes a village!  I'm so happy to be a part of this one.
